Erin Magee, a director of development of Supreme, launched her own brand, MadeMe, as a reaction to the predominately male-driven streetwear market in 2007.
Past collections have been sold at many cutting edge retailers such as OAK in New York and Colette in Paris.
With MadeMe x X-Girl, Erin Magee is bringing the label back to its downtown New York City roots with a ten-piece collection including a Reversible Puffy Jacket with original Mike Mills graphic, Long Sleeve Ringer Tee and Wool Beret. Creating pieces for girls, by girls, in the same spirit Gordon and Von Furth brought into the world. To collaborate with X-Girl, she says, is to pay homage to her fashion heroes. “MadeMe shares a lot of the same values as X-Girl did 20 years ago. Tomboy aesthetics and Riot Grrrl ideals are at the heart of both brands.” Magee says of the partnership. “Since streetwear is so male dominated, I think it’s really cool to tell the story of X-Girl’s influence. “Girls To The Front! ”
